To reach the on-call pediatrician after hours (for emergencies that cannot wait until the office opens in the morning):

Call the answering service: (866) 538-4542. If you do not receive a call back within an hour or so, check again with the answering service to ensure that they have your correct phone number.

THINGS TO STOCK IN YOUR MEDICINE CABINET

1. Acetaminophen (Tylenol or other brand) - oral and suppository

2. Adhesive tape

3. Bacitracin, Neosporin, or Polysporin Ointment

4. Band-Aids

5. Diphenhydramine elixir (plain Benadryl or other brand)

6. Gauze Pads

7. Hydrogen peroxide

8. Ibuprofen suspension or tablets (Advil, Motrin or other brand)

9. Measuring syringe (for medicine doses)

10. Ricelyte, Pedialyte or other electrolyte solution, or Pedialyte ice pops

11. Thermometer -- Rectal for infants – Oral for older children. NOT forehead strips which may be inaccurate.

12. Vaseline or A&D ointment
